A radar detector can be a life-saver. It can stop you getting speeding
tickets which could endanger your job and make a hole in your bank balance.
You see without a radar detector you run a good chance of getting a
speeding ticket - partly because the limits change as you go from place
to place. And that can cost you a lot. Not just from the fines themselves
but also because if you have several tickets, your insurance premium
will be pushed up.
These radar detectors will allow you to know when the police are checking
speed in your area in a speed trap. As you are driving by, your detector
will do one of two things. First, it may provide you with the information
that there is speed detection happening near you which would encourage
you to slow down and avoid the speed trap. Or, it may work by blocking
the radar from getting to your vehicle. This means that the police officer
will not know if you are speeding. However, if you dash past the speed
trap at what is obviously a high speed with a lot of noise, the police
will still pull you over!
In various areas of the country, and some countries altogether, the
use of radar detectors is illegal. So you need to make sure whether
you can use one. For example, in Britain, it is legal to use a GPS detector
which tells you where the fixed speed detection devices are.
If you do not know whether radar detectors are legal or not - find
out! If they are legal, then get a radar detector and mount it in your
car.

The MathWorks Introduces Simscape Language for Physical Modeling : New Capability Enables Definition of Physical Domains and Components for Developing Mechatronic and Other Multidomain Systems in Simulink
The MathWorks today announced the availability of the Simscape language, a new capability that enables textual authoring of physical modeling components, domains, and libraries in the Simulink environment. The new language is included in Simscape, which extends Simulink for modeling and simulating mechatronic and other multidomain physical systems using a physical network, or acausal modeling, approach. This could save you a lot of money, and will help you drive more
safely.
The next question is which radar detector you should buy, as there
are many types available. They are all quite different too, which makes
it even harder to choose which the right one for your needs is. To be
on the safe side, get a radar detector that will detect lasers or radar
or others so that you can choose the detector that will work to block
them.
There are plenty of reasons to get a radar detector even if you think
you are not a speedster. For example, it is quite difficult to drive
a modern car at 30 mph, and when you go down a hill the car will speed
up anyway. Unless you are watching the speedo every minute you are almost
bound to speed from time to time - specially in areas where they have
very low speed limits.
Also, you may miss a change from a 40 to a 30 mph limit for example,
and be speeding without realising it. You can even be caught and given
a speeding icket for going just slightly higher and you may not have
even realized that you were doing it.
A radar detector can save you a lot of money. The cost of a speeding
ticket is often substantial. Yet, if you make a small mistake, even
just something that is insignificant, you can be affected by this. What's
more you will find that your insurance premium gets jacked up next time
you renew it. The alternative is to protect your licence with a radar
detector.
